Produced and mixed Anathema’s “Distant Satellites”

Recorded, produced and mixed Anathema’s “Distant Satellites”

Proud of this one. Had a wonderful time with the band. Was a great team involved. Dave Stewart (Porcupine Tree, Opeth) wrote some wonderful strings, Steven Wilson mixed two songs, “Not Alone” and “Take Shelter”, Wetle Holte created some great percussion add-ons and Chris Sansom did a wonderful mastering of the album.

Some reviews:

“Yet another sublime masterclass in supercharged emotional songwriting and fearless sonic curiosity”

5/5 The Guardian

“Ebbing and flowing, brooding and building the album’s structural dynamics are masterfully balanced, song-craft is tightened and the band’s overflowing musical passion gets ever more compelling and infectious”

8/10 Metal Hammer

“A remarkable album that confirms their flexibility and talent for making energetic, expressive, poignant music. Anathema are a special band, determined not to stagnate, and distant satellites is yet another divine release”

Prog Magazine

«Christer-André Cederberg’s production work is absolutely stellar; every guitar strum sounds out clearly, even when surrounded by increasingly complex orchestration.»

The Skinny

“… the whole album gets the kind of top-shelf production and mixing job that most bands and artists can only dream of.”

Intravenous Magazine

«The production of “Distant satellites“ is beyond each doubt.»

«Christer-André Cederberg has done a brilliant job of recording and mixing this album at Cederberg studios in Norway.»

Life Music Media

“Anathema has long stood as the example of how to pristinely convey the joys, sorrows, and uncertainties of what it means to be human via a cherished culmination of melodies, harmonies, instrumentation, and production; ‘distant satellites’ upholds that standard remarkably.”

“The production frames the album in an inky smoothness that acts as the perfect panorama for the music’s vision.”

“There’s more than enough in here to delight, from funereal synth and skittering electronica to the lush, sustain-heavy guitar workout of ‘Anathema’ and the wonderful, quietly propulsive thrum of ‘Take Shelter'”

Rock Sound

“High emotions, great music simply epic!”

8/10 Classic Rock Deutschland

“A very harmonic and solid album which will a receive a warm welcome from the fans for sure!”

8/10 Rock Hard (magazine)

“Anathema have done it again!”

95/100 Aardschok Magazine

“distant satellites is melodic, lovely, hopeful and often stunning, but most importantly, it’s utterly human.”

6/6 Thrash Hits

«Distant Satellites beats the many bands churning out string-laden sensitive ballads hands down. For doing such a thing with so much vitality means that, after all these years, they deserve to be finally recognised as the national treasures that they have been for some time.”

Drowned In Sound

“…this album is a bright as it is dark, as light as it is heavy and as beautiful as it is… in fact it is just beautiful.
Anathema’s voice is as pure and sincere as it is ethereal and Distant Satellites is all Anathema.”

9/10 Sweden Rock
